The Sziget Festival takes place at the Óbudai Island, nearby the centre of Budapest. The climate of Hungary can be described as typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters. Boedapest offers a huge range of touristic attractions and has a very bubbly cultural scene. Especially the ruin bars, swimming pools and bathhouses are very popular among tourists. The festival site is easily accessible by subway.

On the road
In Austria and Slovenia it is obligated to place a vignette on your car. A vignette is a form road pricing used on vehicles to indicate that road tolls have been paid. The sticker has to be visible on the front window of the car when you pass the border of Austria/Hungary. You can buy vignettes at every border. There are different vignettes for cars and motorcycles. Last, you can buy vignettes with different validities, such as 10 days, 2 months and 1 year.
For your own safety, please don’t park your car just somewhere in the surroundings of the festival terrain. Instead, we would recommend to park your car in the city nearby and travel further with the public transport or to park your car in one of our secured parkings. Since we also offer this, you can purchase your parking ticket at the Sziget webshop. For more information go to the Sziget Parking page.
Make your car Roadtrip-proof. First of all, make sure your car has had a check-up by the garage. This will save you unexpected surprises.
