The Sziget Express will go to Budapest again in 2024. Make friends along the way, travel across Europe and enjoy breathtaking views. Make sure you buy your tickets in time, because the greenest travel option sells out at lightning speed every year!

Sziget Express sold-out

Sziget Express 2024 tickets are completely sold-out. We will be traveling again in August with two fully booked trains from Amersfoort to Budapest. Missed out? You can also choose the Sziget Bus, going from a boarding location (in The Netherlands or Belgium) of your choice.

Travel dates and times Sziget Express

Departure dates:

Outward journey Amersfoort (NL) > Budapest (HUN): departure on Mondag August 5 and arrival on Tuesday August 6.

Return journey Budapest (HUN) > Utrecht (NL)*: departure on Tuesday August 13 and arrival on Wednesday August 14.

* Despite railway maintenance, the departure of the Sziget Express remains from Amersfoort Central. There are no restrictions at that time. Upon return from Budapest, we arrive at Utrecht Central Station, as Amersfoort Central is not accessible at that time. Do you have any further questions? Feel free to contact us.

Group seating

Do you want to travel with your friends on the Sziget Express, but can’t buy tickets at the same time? It’s possible to request group seating. A few weeks before departure, you can specify who you want to sit with, and we will take that into account when arranging the seating.

Please note: we can only do this when everyone in your festi-squad has purchased the same type of seat. Combining different types, such as regular seats and comfort couchettes, is not possible.
